When I made the decision to only do work that I love, life changed. At first it wasn’t always easy, but it always “felt” so much better that taking a job just because I needed the money. You don’t need to do it alone, to break new ground or reinvent the wheel. There are people all over the place who make money from the weirdest things. I know of someone who just sells drum pedals online, another who makes garden ornaments out of junk.
Here is a short list of the things that work really well for me:
✴ DO WHAT YOU LOVE AND ENJOY IT COMPLETELY.
✴ DON’T SECOND-GUESS YOURSELF. (Important!)
✴ BE MINDFUL OF THE STORY YOU’RE TELLING. (Especially to yourself.)
✴ RESEARCH HOW OTHERS HAVE DONE IT. (But only if or when you’re inspired.)
✴ GIVE PEOPLE WHAT THEY REALLY NEED. (Not what you “think” is right for them.)
✴ ADD YOUR UNIQUENESS. (You have so much to give to this world.)
✴ MAKE IT FUN. (That keeps it sustainable.)
✴ CONTRIBUTE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. (That’s where the feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction comes from.)
✴ BE OPEN TO RECEIVE EVEN MORE. (That’s when you create your own miracles – by allowing them to just happen!)
I enjoyed and allowed and trusted the process, but I didn’t wait patiently … I moved in the direction of whatever felt right for me in the moment, I meditated almost every day, I kept my spirits uplifted, I gave myself permission to have special treats occasionally, I was inspired to actions that didn’t always make perfect sense, but they always felt good and right and aligned.
Enjoying = allowing.
Trusting = aligning.
Faith = knowing.
I found out how my favourite role model set-up their business and added my own spin on it. I kept affirming that I was on the right path. I told no one else about it, deliberately! I didn’t need their support or approval nor did I need their doubt or criticism. I kept going until my new path felt more natural … and I still keep on going today!
You’re right on track … sometimes reading about how others found their way might speed things up, give you more confidence that you can do it too, or simply plant a new seed. With so much love ~ ER
