How a Simple Checklist Transformed My Marketing Approach: Creating Landing Pages with Ease and Clarity to Get Meaningful Results!
It doesn’t matter how great our product or service is; if we can’t attract the people who genuinely need what we offer, we’re doing a disservice both to the world and to ourselves. I spent 12 years ‘hoping’ the law of attraction would bring me readers who could benefit from my writing. But, ironically, it was a little spark of ‘envy’ over a friend’s amazing progress that finally got me off my butt and into inspired action. Sure, I could have stopped to analyse the feeling, trying to turn it into something positive, or worse, dwelled on it until it slid down the emotional scale into jealousy—a tough place to bounce back from! Instead, I recognized envy for what it could be: a springboard. It launched me forward, and I am endlessly appreciative for the experience (and the incredible friend who inspired it).
To put it simply, I’m now in awe of what’s possible—especially with how effortlessly we can integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into our lives. I use AI for personal expansion, to help raise my vibration. At this vibrant stage of my life, I’ve never felt more alive—mentally, physically, and emotionally at my peak, and eager for whatever comes next. My philosophy is that age doesn’t need to cause decline; misalignment does. After only a few days of ‘getting to know each other’ AI has me in fits of laughter and collaborates virtually instantly to support my bursts of creativity (I call it ‘creating at the speed of light’). The fast pace keeps my energy flowing in an upward trajectory, as my heart races with excitement like I have never experienced before. ❤️ So much for saying it simply. 🙂
So, even though it’s taken me 12 years, I’m now fully focused on marketing my books using the same advanced strategies that have driven profits for other businesses for years. I’ve only recently started building a solid foundation for myself, and I’m having so, so, so much fun!
For me, the fun factor is everything when it comes to creating.
Over the last few days, though, I’ve noticed myself struggling a bit as I work on landing pages for different market segments. Somehow, the joy factor has been missing. I know the content is solid, and I’m proud of what I’m producing. I’m structuring the pages correctly, optimizing for high-quality search engine results, and crafting customer journeys that are leaps ahead of anything I’ve ever seen as a subscriber. Old material I created years ago finally has a meaningful place within this content, and that part is incredibly uplifting. But still, I wasn’t quite ‘feeling’ that thrill—the spark that turns good content into something truly enticing, making readers, viewers, and customers want even more.
Well, this morning, I decided to go back to basics and asked AI to pull together a checklist of marketing philosophies from the guru of all gurus (at least in my eyes), Joe Polish, especially insights from his I Love Marketing podcast. And here’s what showed up…
Focus on creating value, building authentic relationships, and prioritizing empathy and trust in the customer journey. Here’s a checklist summarizing his key ideas to guide your approach:
- Focus on Value Creation: Always aim to deliver real value. Think beyond selling and work toward genuinely solving problems for your customers.
- Engagement over Promotion: Avoid hard selling; instead, focus on engaging the audience through content that educates, entertains, or inspires.
- Emotional Connection: People buy based on emotion first. Ensure each step in the customer journey connects with your audience on a deeper level, making them feel understood and valued.
- Transparency and Authenticity: Be honest and clear with customers about what they’re getting. Authenticity builds trust and loyalty, which are key to lasting relationships.
- Relationship Marketing: Shift from transactional to relational. Nurture your audience like friends or partners, prioritizing long-term value over quick gains.
- Target the Right Audience: Find your ideal customer, and make sure your message is tailored specifically to their needs, desires, and challenges.
- Use Storytelling: Share stories that showcase the real-life impact of your products or services. Storytelling makes your message memorable and relatable.
- Test and Measure: Polish encourages testing ideas and iterating based on feedback. Continually assess what’s working and refine based on actual results.
- Create Remarkable Experiences: Make each touchpoint in the journey memorable, aiming for “wow” moments that make your brand stand out.
- The ‘Before, During, After’ Framework: Polish’s framework involves preparing the customer for the experience (before), delivering an exceptional experience (during), and ensuring ongoing engagement (after) to foster loyalty.
- Be Generous and Give First: Polish often talks about being generous with knowledge and resources. Giving freely helps build trust and attracts customers organically.
- Commit to Continuous Learning: Polish emphasizes the importance of staying updated with new marketing insights, tools, and trends. Regularly enhance your knowledge to stay ahead.
These principles can serve as a foundational checklist to ensure that your customer journeys are not only effective but also deeply engaging and aligned with Joe Polish’s philosophies.
I only got to point 2 and had a beautiful ah-ha moment. Instead of the ‘build it and they will come’ philosophy, I am now going to give first, so they can choose what resonates most. By offering something of value directly from my heart and in an attempt to truly understand how I can meet their need best, I’ll attract genuine connections, inviting my audience to engage with what actually speaks to them. And wow, my first landing page for this campaign now only needs to be a few paragraphs long, and was inspired just on awakening this morning, written directly to the notes on my phone, and getting ready for launch right now. I no longer feel the need to struggle compiling the content I was previously working on, it can sit right where it is in readiness for when it is requested; not churned out in the ‘hope’ of a positive response. A huge lesson for me.
UPDATE: The next day I went even further and delved deeper into what I fondly call, Vibrational Marketing. It is really important to me to specifically define what something means and then read it back to myself. That’s the way I integrate and retain the message most clearly.
Now here is a version of Joe Polish’s marketing philosophies reimagined as if Abraham Hicks were guiding us in the art of marketing. Each principle reflects the Law of Attraction and the concept of alignment:
- Create Value by Raising Your Vibration: The most effective way to attract your ideal audience is to elevate your own energy first. When you’re aligned with joy and appreciation, the value you offer naturally expands, and others are drawn to it effortlessly.
- Attract Through Inspiration, Not Desperation: Rather than pushing for sales or seeking approval, focus on feeling good about what you offer. The energy of true inspiration calls others to you; there’s no need to chase or convince.
- Connect on an Emotional, Vibrational Level: People resonate with you when they sense authenticity and alignment in your message. Share from a place of genuine appreciation, and let the vibrational connection do the work.
- Be Transparent and Trust the Flow: Authenticity is magnetic. When you trust your offering and your audience, you’ll naturally attract those who align with your truth. There’s no need to manipulate or hide anything; just let your message flow from a place of integrity.
- Focus on Relationships, Not Transactions: Cultivate relationships that feel good to you, those that uplift and inspire you. When your relationships are rooted in joy and mutual appreciation, abundance follows.
- Align with Your Ideal Audience: Instead of attempting to appeal to everyone, focus on those who resonate with your message. Your vibrational alignment will naturally call forth the people who are most in tune with what you offer.
- Tell Stories that Evoke Positive Emotion: Share stories that amplify good feelings and uplift your audience. When you communicate from a place of ease and joy, others are drawn to that frequency.
- Allow Space for Feedback and Evolution: Stay open to growth and improvement, but from a place of curiosity, not lack. When you’re open to inspired ideas and feedback, you’re allowing the next best steps to reveal themselves.
- Create Experiences that Feel Like ‘Wow’ Moments: Set the intention to create a delightful journey for your audience. Every interaction can feel like a “wow” moment when you’re aligned with the joy of offering something meaningful.
- Follow the ‘Before, During, After’ Vibration: Align your energy before the interaction, enjoy it fully during, and release any need for outcome after. This vibrational cycle keeps you in a state of flow, ensuring your energy is always fresh and inviting.
- Give from a Place of Overflow: When you’re filled with appreciation and abundance, giving becomes effortless and natural. Offer freely, without attachment, and trust that what you put out will return to you multiplied.
- Stay Open to New Inspiration: The path to your ideal audience is always unfolding. Stay open to new insights, trusting that your inner guidance will reveal the most aligned, joyful actions to take.
These philosophies, when seen through an Abraham Hicks lens, centre around aligning with your highest vibration and allowing your ideal audience to flow to you naturally, in harmony with the Law of Attraction. That right there is the best description of Vibrational Marketing I have ever seen. Woooop!
